Batman - Legends of the Dark Knight - Bane (Lethal Impact) - Action Figure - (Kenner)

Bane is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly as an adversary of the superhero Batman. The character first appeared in Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 (January 1993) and was created by Chuck DixonDoug Moench, and Graham Nolan.

With a mix of brute strength and exceptional intelligence, the character is often credited as being the only villain to have "broken the bat". IGN's list of the Top 100 Comic Book Villains of All Time ranked Bane as #34. Bane was portrayed by Robert Swenson in the 1997 film Batman & RobinTom Hardy in the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises, and was voiced by Doug Benson in the 2017 film The Lego Batman Movie.

He thrives on scorpion venom pumped directly into his twisted brain, finding incredible power in this lethal potion that would instantly kill any other living being. As Lethal Impact Bane metabolizes the poison, his body gains immense bulk and strength, and his mind grows ever more evil. Batman must overcome his massive, venom-powered punch in order to conquer Bane and protect the people of Gotham City.

After the failed Legends of Batman line, Kenner gave the Elseworlds version of Batman figures one last shot by releasing Legends of the Dark Knight. Based on the popular comic of the same name, Legends of the Dark Knight featured all Elseworlds versions of Batman and other characters. The only character figures in this line to stay true to their comic images were Dark Knight Detective Batman, an online exclusive, and Man-Bat. Like Legends of Batman, this line never gained popularity, and was quickly cancelled. Later, a few unproduced figures from this line were offered as online exclusives.

An action figure is a poseable character figurine, made of plastic or other materials, and often based upon characters from a filmcomic bookvideo game, or television program. These action figures are usually marketed toward boys and adult collectors.

According to a study in Sweden, action figures with traditional masculine traits primarily target boys.  While most commonly marketed as a children's toy, the action figure has gained wide acceptance as an adult collector item. In such a case, the item may be produced and designed on the assumption it will be bought solely for display.
