Super Mario is a platform game series created by Nintendo based on and starring the fictional plumber Mario . Alternatively called the Super Mario Bros. series or simply the Mario series, it is the central series of the greater Mario franchise . At least one Super Mario game has been released for every major Nintendo video game console . There are twenty-one similar games in the series and one cross-series game, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island , which may or may not be included as part of the series (see Super Mario World games ). The Super Mario games are typically set in the fictional  Mushroom Kingdom  with Mario as the  player character . Super Stars (also parsed as Superstars and alternatively referred to as Starmen, Star Bonuses[2], Invincible Starmen, Invincibility Stars, Stars, or Star-Man) are items used in many Mario games, including the Super Mario series and the Mario Kart series. It generally appears as a five-pointed star with eyes, most consistently yellow in color. If the player gets a Star, they will become invincible. The user becomes temporarily invulnerable to all damage, being able to defeat any enemy. However, hazards that would be fatal regardless of power-ups (lava, pits, time running out, getting crushed, etc.) will still defeat the user, even with the Super Star. In addition, the black goo in the Bowser's Fury mode in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury will cause the player to lose their invincibility if touched while also taking damage, as if they took damage without the power-up. The projectiles or enemies that come into contact with the user of the Star while it is activated are destro...

Mushroom power-ups appear in almost every Super Mario game. The most iconic of these is the Super Mushroom . The Super Mushroom increases Mario's size, turning him into "Super Mario", and allows him to break certain blocks. When hit by an enemy, Mario reverts to his smaller size instead of losing a life. When Mario is in his "Super" form, most blocks that would contain a Super Mushroom instead offer a more powerful power-up such as the Fire Flower. The Super Mushroom is similar in appearance to the Amanita muscaria , with an ivory stalk below a most commonly red and white (originally red and orange) spotted cap. Created by chance, Shigeru Miyamoto stated in an interview that beta tests of Super Mario Bros. proved Mario too tall, so the development team implemented mushrooms to grow and shrink Mario. The Poison Mushroom, first introduced in the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 , is a mushroom that causes damage when touched. The Mini Mushroom is a small blue mushr...

Luigi  is a fictional  character  featured in  video games  and related media released by  Nintendo . Created by prominent game designer  Shigeru Miyamoto , Luigi is portrayed as the slightly younger but taller  fraternal twin brother  of Nintendo's mascot  Mario , and appears in many games throughout the  Mario franchise , often as a  sidekick  to his brother. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luigi ------------------------------ Pink Baby Yoshi (also called Tiny Balloon Yoshi or Balloon Baby Yoshi) is a baby Yoshi that appears in some stages of New Super Mario Bros. U. When you shake the wii remote (ZR or shake for gamepad), it balloons up, allowing Mario to float. Shaking the Wiimote/GamePad (or pressing ZR on the GamePad) will propel Mario higher into the air, though doing so will only help Mario's vertical movement. The increased surface area of the inflated Yoshi can be used to collect more coins. https://www.ign.com/w...
