Vision is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics . The first iteration was an alien created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby who first appeared in Marvel Mystery Comics #13 (November 1940). The second iteration is an android and a member of the Avengers who first appeared in The Avengers #57 (October 1968) by Roy Thomas , Stan Lee and John Buscema . The third Vision is a time traveler that fused with the second version's operating system.
