The Joker  is a fictional  supervillain  created by  Bill Finger ,  Bob Kane , and  Jerry Robinson  who first appeared in the debut issue of the  comic book   Batman  (April 25, 1940) published by  DC Comics . Credit for the Joker's creation is disputed; Kane and Robinson claimed responsibility for the Joker's design, while acknowledging Finger's writing contribution. Jafar is a fictional character who appears in Walt Disney Pictures ' 31st animated feature film Aladdin (1992). He is voiced by American actor Jonathan Freeman , who also portrayed the character in the Broadway musical adaptation . An inspiration to the character is the villain Jafar, played by Conrad Veidt in The Thief of Bagdad , from which Aladdin borrows several character ideas and plot elements. Bowser, or King Koopa , is a fictional character and the main antagonist of Nintendo 's Mario franchise . In Japan, the character bears the title of Daimaō . In the U.S., the character was first referred to as "Bowser, King of the Koopas" and "the sorcerer king" in the instruction manual. Bowser is the leader of the turtle-like Koopa race, and has been the archenemy of Mario since his first appearance, in the 1985 video game Super Mario Bros. His ultimate goals are to kidnap Princess Peach , defeat Mario , and conquer the Mushroom Kingdom . Luffy after he is saved from being executed at the Marine Base. He is one of the two swordsmen of the Straw Hat Pirates , the other being Brook. As a native to the East Blue, he came from the town known as Shimotsuki, where he trained in a dojo and learned the one and two-sword styles (ittōryū and nitōryū). Mojo Jojo (voiced by Roger L. Jackson ) is a mad scientist anthropomorphic chimpanzee with great intelligence, who speaks with a Japanese accent poking fun at the poor dubbing of Speed Racer , although it was never stated whether or not he was from Japan . As the main antagonist of the series and the Powerpuff Girls' arch-enemy , Mojo Jojo was Professor Utonium's reckless laboratory assistant, Jojo, before Professor Utonium created the Powerpuff Girls, the same accident that created the Girls giving Jojo super-intelligence. He has green skin, pink scleras, and wears a white metal dome-shaped helmet that covers his oversized, protruding brain. The helmet is often broken in fights with the Girls, partially exposing his enlarged brain. He wears white gloves and boots, a blue suit with a white belt, and a flowing purple cape. A tyrant, in the modern English-language usage of the word, is an absolute ruler unrestrained by law, or one who has usurped legitimate sovereignty. Often portrayed as cruel, tyrants may defend their position by oppressive means. The original Greek term, however, merely meant an authoritarian sovereign without reference to character, bearing no pejorative connotation during the Archaic and early Classical periods. However, Plato , the Greek philosopher, clearly saw tyrannos as a negative word, and on account of the decisive influence of philosophy on politics, its negative connotations only increased, continuing into the Hellenistic period .
